What is Spelpaus?
Spelpaus is a national register run by Spelinspektionen, the Swedish Gambling Authority. Anyone who registers is excluded from all gambling at every operator with a Swedish licence, at the same time. Registration is free and cannot be undone during the period you chose.
Who it covers
Spelpaus applies to anyone aged 18 or over with a Swedish personal identity number. The exclusion covers every licensed operator in Sweden: online casino, betting, lotteries and bingo, and also Svenska Spel and ATG. Operators must check the register at every login and refuse play if you are in it.
How long you can exclude yourself
- 1 month
- 3 months
- 6 months
- Until further notice. You can then deregister at the earliest after 12 months.
A fixed-term exclusion ends by itself when the period is over. An exclusion until further notice continues until you deregister, which, as noted, is possible only after twelve months.
What happens during the exclusion
You cannot log in to play at any licensed operator. Operators may not send you direct marketing either. Money already in an account can still be withdrawn. Operators without a Swedish licence are not covered by Spelpaus. That is one of the reasons we only list licensed operators.
How to register
You register at spelpaus.se with Swedish e-identification. The exclusion takes effect immediately and you do not need to contact any bookmaker.
Difference from the operators' own tools
